Lesson Scheduling, Cancellation, and Payment Policies - Fall 2020

All lessons must be prepaid monthly. In general, there are no refunds. Payment for lessons is due by the 1st of the month.

Choosing to purchase a lesson package vs. individual lessons: same cancellation and rescheduling policy for both. A reminder email will be sent out by the 20th to get the schedule and payment finalized by the 1st of the month.

Cancellations and Rescheduling:

If the instructor needs to cancel the lesson: We will try to reschedule the rider within 30 days, but if that is not possible, then the instructor will credit the rider for the next month.

The student needs to cancel the lessons:
  • Cancelling the day of the lesson: rider can try to reschedule within 30 days, otherwise the lesson cost is forfeited

  • Cancelling with over 24 hours notice: the rider can try to reschedule the lesson within 30 days. If that is not possible, the rider has 3 cancellations per calendar year where the lesson payment is not forfeited, and we will credit you for the following month. Once the 3 cancellations have been used up, the lesson payment is forfeited.

Scenarios when the rescheduling policy does not apply:

Weather Policy: In the case of severe weather, such as thundering, storms, and the riding portion of the lesson has to stop, the lesson will still continue with groundwork and horse care and will not be eligible for rescheduling, credits, nor refunds. If the instructor makes the decision to cancel lessons due to the weather (extreme heat or cold, poor road conditions, etc.), the normal rescheduling policy applies.

Horse Lameness: In that the horse selected for the rider comes up lame during the lesson and the riding portion of the lesson has to stop, the lesson will still continue with groundwork and horse care and will not be eligible for rescheduling, credits, nor refunds. For classes/clinics: if you have signed up for an event or class, there is no rescheduling nor refunds for cancellations. This includes the Level 1 class, Little Cowboys and Cowgirls Horse Event, Jayne Bailey Clinic, etc.
