​​​Crystal Birchmeier-Diehl

Crystal grew up in the horse industry, showing horses starting at the age of 6. She mainly showed Quarter Horses, participating in everything from Trail to Hunt Seat to Western. After bringing home many titles and championships, she worked in the Arabian breeding industry and was the head instructor at a few local barns in the area before starting Happy Hooves. Crystal brings the all around approach to riding along with a respect for Natural Horsemanship training methods. Drawing on the foundations of Classical Dressage, Crystal teaches all the beginners at Happy Hooves along with Western Dressage and the Young Rider Program. Her love of kids brings a patient and fun aspect to instructing.

Adam Diehl

Adam has been a lifelong horse enthusiast and began riding over 25 years ago, working at a local farm to pay for riding lessons. He has broad experience in the horse industry; in addition to his experience in riding, training and instruction, he has worked at breeding farms, training stables, and lectured at the college level in horse behavior. He holds a Horse Management Certificate and Bachelor of Animal Science degree from Michigan State University. Over the years, he has competed in Eventing, Dressage, and Hunter/Jumper arenas, and has trained with several well-known professionals in these areas. His current focus is Eventing, where he has competed through Training level and schooled through Preliminary. He currently enjoys working with the Happy Hooves jump crew, in addition to his day job working as a researcher at the University of Michigan.
